Workshop Description:
Every cell in your body has genes that contain the blueprints (genetic code) for your body. Some changes in the genetic code in your body that affect the function of the gene are called mutations, and inherited gene mutations are known to increase the risk of breast cancer. About 5% to 10% of breast cancer cases are thought to be hereditary. How do you know if you have gene mutation and higher risk for breast cancer? What are the benefits and risks of genetic counseling and testing? What can I do to prevent and treat the disease? Please join us and learn more about breast cancer and genetics from the experts!
